After my Chicken marathon, I took a breather to find my new direction. I brought out the oils. Really love painting with oils. Started doing clouds because that is something I really want to master, so I like to practice them. Since it was Easter week when I started this project and didn't know where I was going.... I thought of my favorite church just outside of Boulder on Highway 69, decided to add it with my impressionistic style. This is all about playing with oils, practicing different things, pallet knife, being loose with the brush, etc. I am my own worst, or best critic. There are a lot of things not right but what the heck, this is a painting! Up close its got lots of texture and thats what I love about oil. I'm now encouraged to work keep working with the oils.
