When I paint..... it happens (usually) quite quickly. However, I let my imagination work on it for a few days. Like this painting I just completed tonight. Early in the week we went to Butte. There was a snow storm over the Highlands and the Mountains were majestically white with fresh snow. The sky was dark behind them, yet the foothills still showed signs of last summers green grass. It was striking to me. I etch the image in my mind. Think about it when I can't sleep at night. I think about how I would transfer the moment onto canvas. When the time is just right and I can work intensely without interruption..... well, I just go for it. Never really looks like the great painting that goes on in my head. But its fun to see what happens with the energy I create and store to burst out a painting. Well, thats how it works for me, sometimes.
My passion is painting impressionist /abstract original oil paintings. Nature is my biggest inspiration!
